Access Measures

There will be some intense lighting, sounds, and haze, but audience members are welcome to move about, make noise, and exit and re-enter the space to access the Quiet Space or the Sanctuary Space whenever they may need to take a break.

Sanctuary Space Within the show space, there will be a Sanctuary Space where you can get away from some of the noise, lights, and haze to access comfortable places to sit, fidget toys, ear plugs, and other sensory items.

Quiet Space
To get away from the noise and lights completely, there will be a quiet space set up in the lobby with places to sit, fidget / sensory toys, and earplugs.

Active Listeners

There will be Active Listeners available onsite for every performance supplied by HELD Agency Inc.

HELD Agency Inc. is supporting this event on their mission to make public spaces mentally & socio-emotionally accessible, one decompression space at a time.

At any point during this session, attendees are encouraged to check-in with their own access needs, and see if they would like to make use of the Quiet Space. Here, an Active Listener is present to support you through discussing, distracting, and/or decompressing - whatever you may choose and need in the moment. Active Listeners use a Peer-based lens, creating an intentional & decolonial space of camaraderie and community care.

How to Experience

As soon as you enter the space you are in the world. Box office will greet you as you enter the “R.A.V.E Institute and will provide you with a light up bracelet. There will be a coatcheck available for you to drop of anything that you don’t want to dance with.

Audience Interaction: From this point actors will interact with you as you travel through the halls towards the main performance space. They will continue to interact with you throughout the show due to the immersive nature of the piece. Be prepared to be encouraged and asked to dance but know that it is always your choice on whether or not you want to participate and that the actors will not judge you in anyway.

Water, beverages and snacks are ****available throughout the whole experience and can be brought into the space.

Take a break! There will be static chairs placed throughout the space as well as a “Chair Bank” of rolling chairs that you are welcome to take and move to wherever you’d like in the space throughout the whole experience. There will be someone in the “Chair Bank” to assist you if you need.

What to Wear? The floor throughout the space is concrete with carpet over it so consider wearing comfortable supportive shoes if you know you’d like to be on your feet dancing!

You’re gonna dance whether that be up on your feet or shimmying your shoulders from a chair so wear breathable clothes a the space can get quite warm.
