This durational performance will take place from 1 pm - 9 pm in Sankofa Square. It will feature a soundscape and the performers will occasionally engage with audiences in the square. The performers will rotate throughout the day and will perform on and suspended above the ice, each bringing their own interpretation to this battle for our future.
You are welcome to take in this work as you wish! Pass by and watch for a few minutes or grab a nearby seat in the square and take in the slow melt and rotating performers as the hours pass by.
Please know that this piece of work has been executed before and has been meticulously rehearsed and rigged to ensure that performers are safe. Harnesses, rigging, wind and weather conditions are inspected daily and monitor throughout the day to ensure the safety of performers and audiences throughout Sankofa Square.
There will also be a series of tents located on the east side of the square featuring different vendors, artisans and information hubs all focused on climate care and the climate crisis. Feel free to check out what each booth has to offer but don’t feel any pressure to engage.

THAW is meant to call attention to the Climate Crisis and remind the public that there is no time to waste.
